At Atomic Playpen, I directed the UX of a very innovative intranet for Best Buy that is based on a social media paradigm that leverages feeds and membership to groups to empower employees to seek and easily find the knowledge they need to do their jobs and the content they want to remain satisfied employees.

I worked with Senior IT and Interal Communications leadership to immerse my team in the culture of Best Buy so that we could effectively adapt a social media paradigm to the company. We spent several weeks in whiteboard sessions to outline the arch of the experience, the pool of available content, and the variety of users.

The end result was an intranet experience that melds Best Buy’s culture with accepted social media functionality. It will be rolling out to all Best Buy companies around the world starting in Q4 of 2012.
